Petticoat Junction: The First Season
Written by Paramount HE PR Release

petticoat_junction1stsdvd.jpgRevisit the folksy, small-town charm of Hooterville and the quaint comfort of the Shady Rest Hotel when Petticoat Junction: The Official First Season, the Classic Comedy Series, barrels down the tracks and onto DVD December 16 from CBS Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment. Petticoat Junction stars Bea Benaderet, Jeannine Riley, Pat Woodell, Edgar Buchanan and Linda Henning.

From the creators of the equally hilarious and feel-good television series "The Beverly Hillbillies," Petticoat Junction: The Official First Season follows the everyday happenings of the Bradley family - widowed mother Kate (two-time Emmy nominee Bea Benaderet); her three beautiful daughters, Billie Jo (Jeannine Riley), Bobbie Jo (Pat Woodell) and Betty Jo (Linda Henning); and their genial Uncle Joe (Edgar Buchanan), who fancied himself as the hotel's general manager but somehow managed to avoid anything that might be considered work.   A host of new visitors come to town each week via steam engine, Hooterville's sole form of public transportation, helping the series chronicle the down-home, humorous mishaps of the town residents and guests.

Outstanding guest stars also highlight the first season including two-time Academy Award nominee Dennis Hopper and television icon Adam West Petticoat Junction: The Official First Season includes all 38 episodes of the classic comedy's premiere season plus all-new special features including interviews with cast members Pat Woodell and Linda Henning as well as episodic intros by both, along with a 1990 interview with series creator Paul Henning. The inaugural season will be available on DVD for the suggested retail price of $42.99 US and $47.99 CAN.

Petticoat Junction: The Official First Season is a five-disc set presented in full screen with English MONO.   The DVD is not rated in the US and is rated G in Canada.   The total running time is over 16 hours long.
