TCM Pays Tribute to Frank Sinatra

Turner Classic Movies (TCM) is launching an extensive Web site in conjunction with the network's month-long tribute to Frank Sinatra, set to air in May. The Web site, located at, launches May 1 and will feature the TCM Mood Machine, an embeddable video widget that allows fans to listen to 14 Sinatra classics from movies airing during the festival and which they can place on their social-networking pages, blogs, and share with others. Also featured on the site will be over 100 exclusive video clips which include interviews with members of the Sinatra family, a downloadable schedule, a biographical profile of Sinatra, and sweepstakes opportunities to win Sinatra Party Packs.

TCM's May tribute to "Ol' Blue Eyes," which commemorates the 10th anniversary since his death, will showcase films and specials airing Sundays and Wednesdays throughout the month. The Wednesday presentations will be hosted by his children: Nancy Sinatra, Tina Sinatra and Frank Sinatra Jr. Among the films included in the May celebration are From Here to Eternity (1953), featuring Sinatra's Oscar-winning performance; the musicals Pal Joey (1957), On the Town (1949) and Anchors Aweigh (1945); the Rat Pack comedies Ocean's Eleven (1960) and Sergeants 3 (1962); and powerhouse dramas like The Man with the Golden Arm (1955), which earned him a second Oscar nomination, and The Manchurian Candidate (1962). Also included are four outstanding television specials, including Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music (1965) and Frank Sinatra: A Man and His Music + Ella + Jobim (1967), the latter teaming him up with songstress Ella Fitzgerald and Brazilian songwriter Antonio Carlos Jobim.

The TCM Mood Machine - This embeddable video widget will play 14 songs from Sinatra movies, including "The Last Call for Love" from Ship Ahoy; "I Fall in Love Too Easily" from Anchors Aweigh; "New York, New York" from On the Town; and "Well Did You Evah?" from High Society. The TCM Mood Machine features a skin that changes color and theme depending on the type of song played.

Sinatra Party Pack and Sweepstakes - TCM's Frank Sinatra Web site will provide resources to help viewers plan and execute a hip, cool house party. Elements for download include invitations, cocktail and food recipes and e-cards. In addition, viewers can enter to win a TCM Frank Sinatra party pack. TCM will give away 100 packs that include a specially branded martini shaker and two martini glasses; a Frank Sinatra At the Movies CD; and a special fold-out collection of movie poster postcards.

Exclusive Video - Fans can check out over 100 exclusive video offerings at the Frank Sinatra Web site, including sneak peeks of films featured in the festival, interviews with Nancy Sinatra, Tina Sinatra and Frank Sinatra Jr., including footage not used on air; original movie trailers, and over 50 incredible clips from Frank Sinatra films.

Downloads and Photo Gallery - TCM's Frank Sinatra Web site will feature an extensive photo gallery of images from Sinatra's film career.   The site will also offer a downloadable schedule featuring information the films, screensavers and desktop wallpaper.

Sinatra Info - Fans can read up on Frank Sinatra's extensive career through a biographical profile and a collection of articles on each movie featured in the festival.

DVDs and CDs - TCM's online boutique and extensive DVD store will feature various Frank Sinatra items on sale, including new Frank Sinatra collection DVDs and CDs
