The Gary Cooper Collection is one of the first releases in MGM's Movie Legend series. Each selection will showcase the work of a renown director or actor. The Gary Cooper Collection includes the romantic western The Cowboy and the Lady the first time on DVD, the war drama The Real Glory, the western classic Vera Cruz and the romantic drama The Winning of Barbara Worth.

The Winning Of Barbara Worth (1926)

Two engineers (Gary Cooper and Ronald Colman) vie for the affections of Barbara Worth (Vilma Bánky), the adoptive daughter of a landowner while building a dam to irrigate the land. When the financing deal of the dam goes sour, the men bury their differences and ride off on horses to get money to salvage the dam and save Worth, who is at the mercy of a lynch mob. Also stars Ronald Colman.
The Cowboy And The Lady (1938)
Poor Mary Smith (Merle Oberon) can't go night-clubbing or have any other fun because any hint of scandal could damage her father's political

career. She decides to rebel and convinces her two maids to let her go along with them on a blind date with some rodeo performers. She tells her date, Stretch (Gary Cooper), that she's a parlor maid and that she left home because her father (Henry Kolker) beat her. The two fall in love and elope. Now Mary has a double dilemma: continuing her charade with Stretch and keeping her marriage a secret from her father. Walter Brennan and Fuzzy Knight also star.
The Real Glory (1939)
In 1906 the American army pulls out of Manila leaving a handful of

officers to try and get the Philippines Constabulary into shape to protect the native population from ruthless invaders. By reputation and by their exploits the fearless zealots initially strike terror into the local militia but the doctor (Gary Cooper) on the post starts to finds ways to combat this. David Niven, Reginald Owen and Andrea Leeds also star.
Vera Cruz (1954)
Cooper and Burt Lancaster portray Ben Trane and Joe Erin,

two daredevils mercenaries who journey to Mexico in search of adventure and cold hard cash during the 1866 revolution. But they get more than they bargained for when the wealthy and beautiful Countess Duvarre (Denise Darcel) hires them to escort her (and a fortune in gold!) to Emperor Maximilian's fighting forces in Vera Cruz.
The DVDs contain no special features but offer wonderful looks at some early films by Cooper and his other iconic costars.
